Map Room

On the wall is an 1891 Waterworks Map made by Antes Snyder.

Maps of Cokeville, March l939, Indiana County coal mines 1809, Blairsville 1938 as well as a framed plan of Blairsville laid out in 1819 are located in this room. The walls have paintings by local artists and a framed certificate of William F. Johnston’s Commission as Captain in the Blairsville Blues of the Uniformed Militia of PA; 3rd Brigade of the 18th Division, Aug. 12, 1849. It is said that he was born in the old stone house at Kingston. He was later Governor of Pennsylvania.Many old photographs are also stored in this room.
